Project Brazil, more commonly known as MACS, or the Motionless Aircraft Cockpit Simulator, is a full scale mock-up of the cockpit of the most sophisticated commercial aircraft in the world, the Airbus Industrie A320. The process of fabrication took about eight months. The structure is comprised entirely of mobile sections with the ability of being taken down for easy transport and storage in the dismantled position. This unique manufacturing technique remains the backbone of the overall integrity of the cockpit, structurally speaking. Although built and assembled in separate sections, this feature spreads the load of the heavy ceilings and sound equipment found overhead. Fully constructed in an average sized basement, the simulator can be taken down, brought outside, and loaded on a vehicle in an impressive 30- 35 minutes with a minimum crew of two.
